This is a song inspired to honour the mother and father energies of the Universe. Honouring the Spirit, the Mother, The Fire and the Water.
To Yolotl Nantzin meaning our ever loving Mother/ Grandmother and To Yolotl Tantzin meaning our ever loving Father/Grandfather.
Tlazocamati meaning I love you, I give to you like the Earth gives to you, which is Love.
(These are the translations given to me by my Mexicatl elders. With the respect and honouring of knowing that the Nahuatl language interprets differently to various tribes and that the meaning of every expression cannot be fully translated by the English language.)
The Nahuatl languages comes very easy when writing prayers, because the language is such a poetic language, and is a prayer within itself. The Native people were always living the sacred way of prayer and giving to the Earth to maintain balance for the Universe. I feel that the Nahuatl language, through the sense of vowels, unlocks keys within our consciousness to truly innerstand our connection with the Universe.
lyrics
Verse 1
Can you feel the Spirit,
The Ancient Spirit,
That flows through your bones,
Holding you
Singing to you with it's sacred tones
Can you feel the Mother
The Mother of all
As she's filling you with her love
Holding you,
So deep in her heart
Can you feel her
So deep in her heart
Chorus
To Yolotl Nantzin
To Yolotl Tantzin
Tlazocamati
Hey yawana he yana hey ne yo wey
To Yolotl Nantzin
To Yolotl Tantzin
Tlazocamati
Hey yawana he yana hey ne yo wey
Verse 2
Can you feel your Grandfather
The Ancient fire that burns so deep
In your soul
Reminding you the presence of it all
Can you feel your Grandmother
The water that flows through your veins
Washing it away
Reminding you of these ancient ways
Do you remember these ancient ways
